What is ABEA?
ABEA is a needlecraft stitching organization who's purpose is to assist those who want to learn to do Bunka Shishu in the United States and Canada as a forum to organize chapters, certify stitchers, instructors and judges, and to sponsor an annual national seminar.
ABEA is organized with a Council of Masters (CoM) which acts like a board of directors to guide the association for growth and improvement in the art form. Every two years, the association elects officers who keep the association running based on the organization's bylaws.
To become a member of ABEA, an annual dues is paid to either your local chapter president or to the ABEA treasurer directly. Being a member of ABEA brings the stitcher a quarterly newletter called NeedleNotes, availablity of kit stitching help from the ABEA Kandies Lending Library, a discount on attending the annual national seminar, and a wealth of fun at local chapter meetings or stitching classes.
